There is a period of time known as the ‘window period’ where it may be too early to get accurate results. For HIV and Syphilis 99.9% infection will show up in blood tests after 4 weeks. For Chlamydia and Gonnorhoea the tests should be accurate after 2 weeks. We can still test you within this period, but be aware your tests may not reflect any recently acquired infection.
Under NHS England guidance, if you or anyone in your household has developed a high temperature or new continuous cough, please self-isolate and do not come in to the GP practice. Click here for more information.
